As i sit here with all the tools at hand for blogging i am starting to doubt myself if i can. i know everyone keeps saying well the tutorials i have been constantly watching thats its easy no hassle its not the blog or content its the techy things im struggling with ie plugins domains seo.? i really dont get it all keep seeing start a blog free but all the hosting sites im on its charging like£75 is this normal i just dont know:(
also i dont have social media was never my thing well it used to be until the next few generation seemed to ruin it with all there dramas on it..but i do like a rant so im asking can i rant here or post random stuff or is that putting it like a social media site rather than a blog.
Am i setting myself up for total disaster….!!!!!

I have had a blog for 11 years now and I see it more as a journal to look back on as well as tool to (hopefully) inspire other. Having said that, I probably have ranted at some point. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Good luck! ☺️

Ah love it! Just do as much or as little as you want. I do Twitter promotion, Instagram for a sense of community and a useless Facebook page. Have completely given up on Pinterest though. And I have no plugins. Just do you. Xx

I’ve been wid WP since 2004…started the Swamp Hermit’s Report, mainly politics, free for all these years, and still have it. WP blogs are free, unless you want extras.
Started the Linux Newbie since 1996 blog in 01/06/2019. (Same user – Karmi – for both.) Went wid the Business plan last year, which was the first time I ever paid for a blog. That blog does pretty good…lots better than the old one, and I like having the old Classic Editor.
Recently, I wanted to do a new modern type of political blog, easily viewed on phones, tablets, and lappies. Free, but it has been kicking my humble buttocks since I started it on 11/24/2021.
My two-cents 😉 WP seems to have made it more difficult to set up a free blog, just since the one I started in 01/06/2019, but it should still be free if you want (in America anyway). I think they purposely try to trick you into paying. Took me several tries to get the right free selection ‘n settings. Scoundrels! 😉 They have been more than fair to me since 2004, but they seem a tad trickier than back then. 😉 Yesterday was the first day that I got most of the setting right – hey, I hate reading the “Read Me” stuff!!! Keep tweaking it…the practice does help!

More two-cents – sorry… 😉 Smelly Socks and Garden Peas makes some Good points…Twitter is easy ‘n free promotion, and all I use. Also, no plugins on my two free blogs (unless they are default??)…plugins can cause problems. Over the years, I have also set up Private blogs just to do tests…I have one now even, which helped me finally get most of my setting right on new BB Report blog. Just you can see those.
